New Melton Hospital

The proposed new Melton Hospital will support a fast-growing community in Melbourne’s outer west. It will provide lifelong health care and greater health care opportunities to the region, whilst reducing pressure on busy hospitals in the surrounding suburbs.

The Victorian Government has invested $2.4 million to plan the project. A business case is due for completion at the end of 2020, which will determine the location, size and range of services offered at the new Melton Hospital. With Western Health appointed to manage the proposed facility, the business case will also identify how the facility will link into other hospitals in the region. Although the size of the new hospital has yet to be determined, it is expected a full-service, 24-hour hospital with services such as an emergency department, cardiac and intensive care, acute surgical facilities, and diagnostic services will be provided.

As the Principal Consultant, Ontoit is leading a large team of architects, structural, civil and traffic engineers, building surveyors and clinical service planners to deliver a future-ready masterplan and feasibility study which will inform the business case for the new Melton Hospital
