Monash Freeway Upgrade – Stages 1 & 2
The Monash Freeway Upgrade has significantly improved travel times and created smoother traffic flow onto and along one of the busiest stretches of freeway in Australia – it is now one of the longest stretches of managed motorway in the world.
The stage 1 upgrade involved construction of more than 30 kilometres of additional lanes. The freeway was also widened from 4 to 5 lanes in each direction between EastLink interchange and the South Gippsland Freeway, and from 2 to 3 lanes in each direction between the South Gippsland Freeway and Clyde Road in Berwick
Ontoit was engaged by Transurban to collaborate with VicRoads as the lead procurement and technical advisor, providing a full spectrum of transaction management services. The contract was undertaken as part of our project management and transaction advisory services for the West Gate Tunnel project.
