Canberra to Eden Rail Feasibility Study

The potential of opening a freight and passenger rail line to connect Canberra to the Port of Eden was investigated after it announced the NSW Government would commit towards a feasibility study.

Ontoit undertook the feasibility study for a railway between Canberra and Eden for freight and passenger services.

We were tasked with the development of passenger and freight demand models and engineering feasibility of the rail corridor. The route is based on re-establishment of a disused railway between Queanbeyan and Bombala consideration of options for connecting to Canberra Airport at the northern end and Port of Eden at the southern end.
