Our Lady of Mercy College Heidelberg is continuing the staged implementation of its development masterplan.
This phase involves the construction of a new building and the refurbishment of significant areas of classrooms and associated student facilities.
The College Masterplan has focused on contemporary upgrades of existing facilities along with the transformation of its learning facilities to enhance the learning environment for students. In addition, there has been a focus on improving circulation and way-finding through the campus and creating new areas of open space.
Ontoit has been engaged by Mercy Education Limited to provide project management and superintendent services for the construction of the Design Arts & Technology (DAT) building as well as the upgrade of the student café and senior classroom block. The scope includes:
- Demolition of the existing arts building
- Construction of a new three storey DAT facility plus basement, and
- Construction of a new two storey café / classroom facility with interconnecting covered walkways to the new DAT facility and the existing Yarra Building.
This month the team continued to progress with the development of the construction of the DAT building, which is on track to be completed in early 2020.
Following the occupation of the DAT building by the school and the relocation of various classroom activities into the DAT building, the vacated spaces will be available for the proposed refurbishment works which are then expected to be completed by late 2020.
