Melbourne Recital Centre

Melbourne’s Southbank Cultural Precinct, redeveloped in 2010.

Melbourne’s Southbank Cultural Precinct now provides the city with an open, accessible, integrated and imaginative precinct, that encompasses new retail and dining facilities; new connections with the city; St Kilda Road and the Yarra River; the development of four new arts spaces and upgrades to the precinct’s existing theatres and public spaces, as part of a $128M budget

Ontoit staff provided project management services to Major Projects Victoria on this complex redevelopment project, employing their extensive arts sector project knowledge and experience to ensure the effective management of the consultant teams, contractors, suppliers, user groups, and project stakeholders (including Ministers, Minister’s Representatives and Advisors, Department Secretaries and MPV Executives). The redevelopment incorporated a 500-seat theatre; 1,000-seat Elizabeth Murdoch Auditorium, 150-seat salon for intimate musical performances; rehearsal studio and a home-base for the Melbourne Theatre Company (now Southbank Theatre).
