Our team supported Western Health to embed operational readiness and activation into the design, governance and delivery planning for the New Melton Hospital, Victoria’s newest greenfield hospital.
We established the governance and leadership structures, operational readiness framework and assurance systems required to align people, digital systems, clinical operations and facility design early in the project lifecycle. Rather than treating hospital readiness as a late-stage activity, the program is being built into the way the hospital is planned, designed and prepared for activation.
This approach supported clearer decision making, stronger operational alignment and a more coordinated pathway from design through to commissioning, transition and future service growth. It ensured readiness considerations are visible from the earliest stages, helping reduce risk and create a hospital that is planned around how staff, patients, systems and services will work in practice.
The outcome is a hospital designed for readiness from day one, with embedded structures that support safe activation, operational performance and scalable growth.
