The Mildura South Regional Sporting Precinct is a major development on the corner of Sixteenth Street and Deakin Avenue in Mildura, regional Victoria.
At today’s sod turning event it was announced that CICG has been appointed as the builder to undertake the works, with construction due to commence shortly in November 2019.
Ontoit has been working with Mildura Rural City Council, providing project management and superintendency services for the exciting new development, the largest public infrastructure project in Mildura’s history.
The precinct will become one of provincial Victoria’s best regional indoor sport complexes, home to 6 indoor sporting user groups, providing a training and competition venue for indoor sports including basketball, netball, volleyball, table tennis, squash and badminton.
The premier outdoor sporting fields will be able to host local football and cricket, pre-season AFL matches, and Big Bash cricket among a host of other national-calibre events. Ontoit’s Andrew McKinley is leading the project with Council’s internal project management team.
“It’s great to be working on this project alongside such a professional and passionate team at Council. The level of support from the sporting groups and the broader community has been inspiring. I’m really looking forward to being involved as the new facility starts to take shape and materialise.” Andrew said.
The project is part of the Mildura Future Ready plan to secure investment in major infrastructure projects to diversify the economy and enhance community wellbeing. The precinct is set to open its doors in 2021.
