RMIT Building 8, Level 7 Refurbishment Project

In 2019 RMIT carried out a business case to address a shortfall of centrally managed teaching space due to rapidly growing student numbers. The Business Case identified that unless addressed there would be a shortfall of 5,639 seat hours per week by 2021.

This project includes the refurbishment of Building 8, Level 7, and associated enabling works. Fit out works will create new learning and teaching spaces increasing capacity by an additional 478 seats. Also incorporated is the relocation of existing functions as well as relocation of existing staff to temporary accommodation, enabling enable construction works to take place.

Ontoit was appointed by RMIT to provide superintendent and project management services from design development through to project completion. Key services undertaken include complex stakeholder management, program and milestone management, cost management, design management, risk management, superintendent, and contract administration.
